Designed as a true family retreat, this new-build hunting lodge was created to comfortably welcome four children, ten grandchildren, extended family, friends, and plenty of dogs. Inspired by the character of a traditional barn but designed to feel like a warm home away from home, the house centers around an open kitchen, living, and dining space with a dramatic sixteen-foot-wide window overlooking the property. Five main-floor bedrooms and two upstairs bunk rooms give everyone a place to stay. The second floor also includes a playroom and small library overlooking the pond. Natural wood shiplap, board-and-batten detailing, stone fireplaces, and layered personal collections bring warmth and a sense of permanence to the interiors. The sage green board-and-batten exterior, cedar detailing, dark bronze accents, and metal roof allow the home to settle naturally into its wooded setting. Outside, a screened porch with soaring ceilings, a grand stone fireplace, sliding screen doors, and a large grill creates an extension of the living space and a connection to the rest of the property. The house is surrounded by acres of raw forest and maintained fields, a fishing pond and dock, a play set, a boat and ATV shed, and a dedicated dog-washing station. Designed around togetherness, flexibility, and the rituals of family life, the front door opens straight into a mudroom. The lodge is built to allow space for everyone to gather, play and collect memories and artifacts for generations to come
