A Soft & Sophisticated Teen Bedroom + Bath Refresh

We absolutely love designing teenage girl bedrooms! This recent bedroom and bath refresh was all about creating spaces that felt softer, more elevated, and thoughtfully layered and would stand the test of time.

The bedroom started with gray walls and posters. It felt expressive and lived-in, but visually busy and a little disconnected. We began by enveloping the room in a calm, neutral paint color, instantly warming the space and giving it a fresh perspective. The blush accents feel almost like a neutral, bringing a personality to the white walls.

From there, we focused on layering. Crisp white bedding creates a clean foundation, while a linen duvet and velvet curtains add depth and dimension. Instead of filling the walls with posters, we curated a small collection of framed art for a more intentional look. Brushed brass accents in the lighting and hardware introduce warmth and polish without overpowering the palette. The fan masquerading as a flower shaped light is our favorite feminine touch in the room!

In the adjoining bathroom, we embraced a bit more contrast. A classic black and white checkered floor tile grounds the space with timeless character and just the right amount of graphic interest. To complement it, the rich green of the walls feels fresh and confident.

What I love most about this transformation is how clearly it reflects transition. The spaces feel intentional and layered rather than temporary. The bedroom offers softness and retreat while the bathroom delivers contrast and character.
